ANWAG Survey on Denied Claims

Results of the ANWAG-EECAP 2018 Medical Services Survey

ANWAG and EECAP conducted a survey on medical benefits to assist the Department of Labor (DOL) Inspector General's Office in their audit of the Division of Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation (DEEOIC) to "determine if OWCP’s processes and controls ensured that Energy claimants received the medical services claimants are qualified to receive under the program. We will also determine if OWCP’s management of the Energy Program provided effective stewardship of the medical services provided to the claimants."

EECAP's Medical Benefits Survey-October, 2016

EECAP, with help from ANWAG and Cold War Patriots conducted a survey to determine how well sick workers were able to use their EEOICPA medical benefits.  The final results show some significant problems that claimants and their doctors are reporting.

EECAP helped the Alliance of Nuclear Workers Advocacy Groups (ANWAG) conduct a short, anonymous survey to learn how well claimants understand the reasons for their claims denials.  Check out the final results to see how well claimants understand NIOSH's dose reconstructions.  Here is NIOSH's response to the survey.

On September 14, 2010 results from this survey was presented to over 40 members of Congress as well as officials from Department of Labor, and NIOSH and DOL Ombudsman's offices to document how the EEOICPA process is working for claimants.  This would not have been possible without your input and help.
